
Andrés Montesinos Barceló graduated from the Veterinary Faculty of Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1992, having shown a special interest in exotics since his student years. During 1992-1994 he participated in the rehabilitation project of the white stork in Madrid. He is the owner and director of the Veterinary Centre Los Sauces in Madrid fully dedicated to exotic animals medicine. Andres is an active member of the AAV since 1991, ARAV, AEMV and EAZV. Currently he is also a board member of the EAAV. He is accredited in exotic pets medicine by the Spanish Association of Small Animals Veterinarians (AVEPA) and also a scientific committee member of the exotics section of this association (GMCAE-AVEPA) and several scientific journals of Spain. Well known in Spain for his dedication to exotic pet medicine, he authored several scientific articles and book chapters and is often participating as a speaker and lecturer in congresses and continuing education courses. His areas of special interest are avian clinical pathology, pharmacology of NSAIDs and oncology research.
