
Dr. Igor Pelizzone graduated in Parma in 2000 and in the same year made a 6 months traineeship at Ecole Nationale Veterinaire Toulouse (France). In 2002 he began working in Belvedere Veterinary Clinic in Reggio Emilia where still works as a partner holder and is responsible of medicine and surgery of exotic pets, endoscopy and dentistry. In 2000 founded a reptiles farm called “Herptop” in Noceto (Parma). Since 2004 is speaker in national and international conferences and writes scientific articles about medicine and surgery of exotic pets. In 2006 he was a speaker in SCIVAC Itinerary of Anaesthesiology with lectures on anaesthesia in non-conventional animals and in the same year he attended the advanced course in medicine and surgery of exotic animals organized by ESAVS at the University of Brno. In 2009, in 2010 and 2013 he is director of SIVAE course of anesthesiology and resuscitation of the exotic animals. In 2012 he co-authored the text "Anaesthesia: dog, cat and unconventional animal " Bufalari A, Lachin A, in which took care of the chapters on anaesthesia of exotic animals. In 2013 began a 3 year PhD internship in Veterinary University of Parma that finished in 2016 with a thesis entitled “reptiles reproduction: new perspectives and future developments”. In 2014 he was elected Vice-President of SIVAE and adviser of the Order of Veterinarians of Reggio Emilia where he lives and works at the Veterinary Clinic Belvedere. In 2015 obtained the GPCert(ExAP) qualification and in 2015 and 2016 is adjunct professor at Veterinary University of Parma.
